What you will need
When cleaning the mold off of your bricks it is important to possess the proper equipment for the job but also to keep yourself clean and away from sickening contaminants. For this job you will need; goggles, rubber gloves, a firm broom, bucket with bleach and water and a hose and nozzle for rinsing.
Here are the steps you can follow at home:
- Step 1: Mix 1 part bleach and 4 parts water in a bucket
- Step 2: Put on safety equipment (gloves & goggles)
- Step 3: Scrape the existing mold off of the bricks as best as possible
- Step 4: Apply the bleach and water to the brick
- Step 5: Let it sit for the day or overnight
- Step 6: Rinse the wall and check for progress
- Step 7: Repeat the process to ensure spores are all gone!
